Mackenzie Tecco is a full-time partner with Barnabas Horse Foundation, serving as the Volunteer Coordinator and an active member of the Fundraising Committee, where she plays a key role in supporting both daily operations and the long-term sustainability of the organization. Her steady leadership, deep care for people and animals, and strong organizational skills make her an essential part of the Barnabas team.
A former veterinary technician, Mackenzie brings extensive experience in animal health, welfare, and barn management. Her background ensures that Barnabas’’ therapy horses receive knowledgeable, compassionate care, while her calm, capable presence provides reassurance to volunteers, staff, and clients alike.
Mackenzie is a certified life coach, a Certified Victim Service Provider, and a Natural Lifemanship practitioner, grounding her work in trauma-informed, relationship-based principles that prioritize safety, connection, and mutual respect. In her role as Volunteer Coordinator, she recruits, trains, and supports volunteers—helping them feel confident, valued, and aligned with Barnabas’ mission as they serve trauma survivors through equine-assisted services.
In addition to her work at Barnabas, Mackenzie volunteers with the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network and is also studying taxidermy, further reflecting her deep respect for animals, conservation, and ethical stewardship. Her interests reflect a thoughtful commitment to understanding and honoring the natural world in all stages of life.
Outside of the barn, Mackenzie enjoys spending time outdoors as an avid birdwatcher and fishing enthusiast—interests that mirror her grounded nature and appreciation for the environment. Her blend of professional expertise, leadership, and genuine heart makes her an invaluable advocate for healing, connection, and hope at Barnabas Horse Foundation.
