Barnabas Staff & Board of Directors

Jenn Faro is the Community Outreach Coordinator and trauma focused equine professional with Barnabas Horse Foundation (BHF). She holds the position of Secretary on the BHF Board of Directors.

In 2017, while seeking volunteer opportunities in the Murrells Inlet, Jenn found Barnabas Horse Foundation. While working full time, she volunteered on Saturdays assisting the with special needs therapeutic riding program. The Natural Lifemanship (NL) principles of connection that are practiced at Barnabas resonated so deeply with Jenn that when the opportunity to attend a Natural Lifemanship Fundamentals training came up, she did not hesitate. Jenn continued to volunteer at every opportunity whether it was assisting with the special needs program, feeding horses several days a week, or participating in fundraising and community outreach events. She enjoyed sharing the impact that Barnabas has in the community so immensely, she accepted the full-time position as Community Outreach Coordinator in 2019.

She has attended several NL trainings from Fundamentals, Intensives, and Immersions. To date her favorite and most impactful training was learning to apply NL principles while partnering with wild mustangs in northern California. She has been a Natural Lifemanship Equine-Assisted Therapy practitioner since 2017 and is currently a NL certification student.

In 2022, she received certification as an equine assisted life coach. Most recently, she became a certified Victim Service Provider through the South Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. When not working with clients or horses, she is speaking or researching grants and other funding opportunities.

Having been raised in a military family and married to an Army Veteran, Jenn feels passionately about the veterans and first responders within the community and leads the Equine Assisted Learning Program – Horse and Heroes. Encouraging veterans and first responders to learn skills to help combat Post Traumatic Stress (PTS), to find work life balance, and to engage in healthy, connected relationships with themselves, family members, and the community.

Jenn believes that God brings everyone to Barnabas for a reason, including herself. She feels Barnabas not only encourages healing with clients but encourages her own healing and growth.
